What a Feeling – The Hughes Corporation

I remember purchasing Windows 95 Upgrade for my Compaq Presario 920, What absolutely amazed me was the Wheezer music video stored on the disc. It was probably the first time I was exposed to the potential of electronic media, particulary video.
I’ve read some articles about Microsoft as of late. Apparently there are those in the field that are trying to hype down the launch of Windows Vista. With the amount of money Microsoft has sunk into developing the next generation computing platform for the masses, there is bound to be unobvious spinoffs. These spinoffs and technological innovations will drive computing into the next decade. Mr. Bill Gates coined this decade the ‘digital decade’.
Some also dispute the importance of Windows – particularly Vista. Others say that OS are yesteryear. OS drive all things. Even Internet applications are dependent upon OS.
Stay tuned for the computer revolution.

2007 for me is about ensuring health, happiness, and prosperity to my life. These are three key areas that I will be focusing my efforts on. Particularly, I will be devoting at least 1 hour each day going to the gym, working out in order to get a ‘killer bod’.
I’m also focusing my attention on my eating habits which have come quite poor over the last year or two. Carbs are killers, and the key to a lean, toned body is to try to keep their intake at the very minimum (well at least for my body type). I have no issues converting body mass into muscle mass, others have difficulty doing so, for these endoderm body types I recommended a ‘bulking’ type food regime.
So I’ve just heard a rumour that Microsoft (Bill Gates) will be dishing out details Microsoft’s decision to have the XBOX 360 double as a set top box for IPTV! If that is indeed the case, then by golly we finally have the much laded COMBO BOX discussed and envisioned all those years ago by Jean Monty!
More details will be announced at CES tomorrow.
On another note, Microsoft may also be unveiling an updated 360 with HDMI support, 120 GB hard drive, and maybe even an HD DVD drive built in. Who knows for sure. Code named Zephyr, 360 v2 is coming out of the closet screaming ‘Future of Home Entertainment’.
So Santa was good to my household this year. The XBOX 360 has now been fully connected to the home entertainment system (Dolby Digital 5.1, Component Video to TV, Network Connection to Sympatico Home Networking Modem). The new XBOX is now complemented with the new 32 inch AKAI LCD TV which is great at displaying HD content from Bell ExpressVu 9200 HD PVR.
Phil has almost beat Kameo which is one of the games included with the 360. I’m a big fan of Project Gotham Racing 3. We also picked up an extra controller, the HDD, and Gears of War.
It took me a little while but now I can stream all of my Movies, Pictures, and Music directly to our 360 – which is then projected through the LCD TV and 5.1 stereo surround.
Next step – Upgrade the Main household PC with Windows Vista Premium so that we can take advantage of the built in Media Centre Extender found in the 360.
The AKAI TV was a great deal (Boxing Day Blowout Sale), I myself had never heard of AKAI but apparently AKAI was a leading brand of video cassette recorder in the 1980’s. The Akai VS-2 was the first VCR manufactured to have an on-screen display, which was originally named the Interactive Monitor System. This innovation eliminated the need for the user to be physically near the VCR to program it to automatically record TV programs, tune in TV stations, read the tape counter and other common features by displaying the information on the television screen. It took several years for competing manufacturers to adapt on-screen display technology to their own products
So the spammers are back…and once again I have to temporarily cut off commenting. I need to investigate a permanent fix. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!
