Migration success!!

With the help of AI I was able to migrate my wordpress hosted site to a new AWS Lightsail instance where I have even more creative control!  Previous attempts using paid tools / providers were unsuccessful.

I learned a few things:

  1. Take note of your username and password (was using wordpress SSO – this will break)
  2. DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours (DNS Propagation Checker – Global DNS Testing Tool)
  3. Sometimes you have to try multiple times before reaching success (commands may need to be tweaked depending on installation)
  4. There was an upload limit that was very difficult to get around (site backup was 800 MB)
  5. AI can be super helpful in debugging!
