So the kitchen project is nearing completion. Friday the kitchen countertop was delivered, and Saturday the kitchen cupboards were delivered – well kinda. So I opted for an Ikea kitchen…hallarum eucalyptus veneer and glass avskit fronts. I don’t know if you have ever purchased something from Ikea, but part of their value proposition is to pass on the cost savings associated with not having to pre-assembled goods before selling them to the end customer. So I prepared myself for the task..70…that’s right seventy flat boxed packages. I basically assembled my entire kitchen. It took all weekend…but Phil and I persevered and got the majority of it done. We have some assembling/leveling and adding the finishing touches (under cabinet valence and lighting). But as you can see by the below pictures…those tasks are on hold until the attic dry wall is completed.
